The Van Winkle Reserve is aged 12 years to a rather low 90.4 proof. The bottle unfortunately doesn’t have the well recognized image of ‘Pappy’ smoking but the product inside is very recognizable.
The nose is spicy with hints orange and peach. The taste of honey and oak melds with tobacco. The finish is smooth and quick with a little bit of dry spice.
An excellent but, as always, a difficult product to track down as everyone is out trying to track down a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle.
