It is not a misspelling of coffee, it is Coffey, the still in which this whisky is distilled. Created with a 95% corn mashbill this would be a bourbon if it were distilled in the U.S.A but labeled as a whisky as it is distilled in Japan. This particular version from Nikka, the Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, has a really nice flavor profile.
The nose is pleasant with sweet, fruity notes. The taste has a rich, sweetness with the caramel notes shining through. The finish is a little short with a nice balance of woodiness with the caramel. All-and-all a really nice bourbon; whoops I mean whisky!
